Demand for Flexible Production Reshapes Laminating Equipment Market, Jiangsu Hongye Machinery Accelerates Modular Design
As global manufacturing orders shift toward smaller batches and higher variety, the laminating equipment market is rapidly moving toward flexible production. Jiangsu Hongye Machinery Co., Ltd. recently announced that it has completed modular design upgrades for its core machinery models, enabling customers to respond more quickly to changes in materials and processes.
Traditional production lines often require long downtime when switching between different products, which can lead to lost productivity and higher operating costs. Hongye Machinery's modular platform allows customers to switch between PUR hot melt, PU adhesive, flame laminating, or powder scattering processes on the same machine by simply changing the coating head, laminating roller set, or powder scattering unit. The utilization rate of the production line has been greatly improved, and downtime has been reduced.

These modular upgrades are particularly valuable for manufacturers handling diverse orders, such as automotive interior components, home textiles, and industrial filtration materials. The ability to reconfigure equipment quickly enables customers to respond to changing market demands without investing in multiple dedicated machines.
“Customers in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East often need one line to handle multiple order types. The equipment must be flexible enough,” said the technical director of Hongye Machinery. “Our modular design is not simple assembly. It is a standardized interface solution built on 28 years of process data.”
Currently, the company's main models — including the PUR hot melt laminating machine, mesh belt laminating machine, and spraying & powder scattering laminating machine — all support modular options. Moving forward, Hongye Machinery plans to make quick-change capability a standard feature across its product line, further lowering the investment barrier for small and medium-sized customers while helping larger manufacturers maximize equipment utilization.
