In contrast, Reactive Polyurethane (PUR) hot melt lamination is a physical-chemical bonding method. The PUR adhesive is melted and applied via roller or gravure engraving onto the substrates. It cures by reacting with moisture in the air. This technology is highly suited for Egypt's high-temperature climate because cured PUR has exceptional heat resistance (up to 150°C), preventing the headliner fabric from sagging or delaminating when cars are parked under the direct Egyptian sun. Furthermore, PUR lamination is completely solvent-free, producing zero VOCs, making it the preferred method for tier-1 suppliers exporting to the European Union.
